Growing up in the shadow of the Wasatch Mountains, Jay Bowman-Kirigin was on skis early and was attracted to moguls almost immediately. He's slammed through bumps runs and shown he had the proverbial right stuff; in 2006, he was on the podium 16 times at various levels, from club contests to NorAms and on to the U.S. Championships.

Bowman-Kirigin has been on a tear for the past two seasons, shredding NorAm (five wins last year and two in '05), Junior Olympics (five medals in three seasons), Junior Worlds (three medals in two winters) and U.S. Championships (silver in '05, bronze last season) courses. "He's got some great skills - he can spin like a top" on his jumps, Coach Donnie St. Pierre said. "He could do a 1080 off a curb, and he's like a cat, always landing on his feet. He's got a total lack of fear." Confidence from the last two seasons have him pointed straight at - and past - his first World Cup action this winter. An outstanding start to the '07 season, bumped him up to the B team in February following a World Cup podium in Japan.
